We asked Knut Miller, who played a decisive role in the development of the Set - Ceramill Green State Finishing Kit - what makes the Set so special.

On what concept is the composition of the tool set based?
The Set is intended to facilitate and optimise the processing of Ceramill Sintron, dry millable CoCr sintering metal, and Ceramill Zirconia, zirconium oxide, after the machined milling process. The different tools provide the user with greater freedom for creativity in terms of natural aesthetics and, of course, greater safety in use.

For which materials are these tools suitable?
Materials such as Ceramill Sintron and Ceramill Zirconia are processed in the so-called green or white state to ensure efficient processing. It is precisely this class of materials for which the Ceramill Green State Finishing Kit is perfectly suited. Some of the instruments in the Set are also suitable for finishing veneer ceramics. This allows easy creation of true-to-nature details such as surface structures and textures. To avoid contamination between the Ceramill Zirconia and Ceramill sintering metal materials, a separate set should be used for each class of materials!

There are 2 specific tools for which you played a major role in their development (image 2 above). What is so special about these tools and what can they be used for?
The fissure tip is ideally suited for defining and finishing true-to-nature structures, both for posterior as well as anterior teeth. Even the finest of fissures can be realised with ease. The second new development is a tool ideal for separating the connectors of the construction from the blanks due to the special geometry of the blade and shape. The tool also benefits from a slight "overlength", so that, for example, large-span bridges made from Ceramill Zolid HT+ 25mm blanks can be separated from the blanks with ease. However, to simplify separation even more, I recommend already taking the connector design into account during the nesting process (CAM).

Which work steps are covered and facilitated by the other tools in the Set?
Starting from separation of the restorations from the blank, through grinding of the retaining elements and homogenous polishing with the cylindrical rubber roller up to finishing true-to-nature textures and structures, this Set makes everything possible that is required to lend restorations a maximum of naturalness prior to sintering.
Short note: the use of a rubber roller is not recommended for Ceramill Sintron. Even if liquids are subsequently used in the processing of zirconium oxide, strong polishing of the surface should be refrained from.
